Hey all (basically the five crazy motherfuckers who have accidentally come to this blog), I now have a YouTube channel where I'll review albums. I'll continue to post articles here, this is mostly just for fun. I won't exactly be doing music articles on it, but I'll do an occassional list and such, as well as rant about shitty music. Very glad you did a review on randy newman's harps &angels. Happy to see that he's not being overlooked by the youth.
I would highly recommend his first album to you "Randy New Creates Something New Under the Sun" (1968) - so yeah, he was doing stuff as early as the late 60's. probably my favorite album by him.
also check out Van Dyke Parks.
but again, i just wanted to praise you for your youtube reviews! thanks fo putting it out there!

Thanks for the kind words. I'll definitely check out his debut, I've listened to a few of his albums, "Land of Dreams" being my favorite so far.
